It was a pleasure to have Kerry for pattern making and sewing lessons. She was already a good sewer when she signed up for a course of 6 lessons. She has added to here existing skills by learning to make patterns and time saving finishing techniques. Heather is a pole dance instructor here she is wearing the short jumpsuit she designed and made out of stretch fabric. She finished it with a perfect small black trim. Well done! Very impressive! I am very happy and proud to announce that one of my students won the Cairns Amateurs 2012 Best Emerging Designer AND Milliner! Congratulations Mackenzie Eaton! Alexandra Coghlan made these great coolots including the applique Alexandra Coghlan made this wrap skirt to her own design Mimi Tam made this beautiful dress for her daughter Melissa made the pattern and sewed this fitted top, it fits her shape perfectly Mackenzie Eaton made the pattern and sewed this dress in sewing lessons, the fabric was designed by him at TAFE lessons. Jess on the right is wearing the dress made and designed by Mackenzie Eaton Mackenzie on the right with Jess who is wearing one of Mackenzie’s first designs at Cairns Amateures 2011 Radka made this princess line dress in sewing lessons and later made the belt to match. Very clever! Bonnie made this great hat in sewing class!…I think I will have to make one for myself as well! Katrina made this dress in the beginners class, the pattern as well as the sewing, well done! it was her 3rd piece before that she made a skirt and a top all in 6 lessons. Chloe loves her new vest made by her mum Laura, it was the first item Laura made in the beginners class Mackenzie Eaton with his design he made in class modeled by Tika It was sew (ha ha) easy with Sajeela teaching me. Now I have made 3 skirts and I am learning to make a dress. Carly has made several items including this leather jacket Barbie made this dress and several other pieces during her first six lessons. Nicole made this dress for her little girl as her first project in sewing class. Emma made these dresses in the begginers course for her little girl. Taylah made this jacket in the beginners class. Sharon showing her top she made in sewing lessons…she also learned to make the pattern 🙂 Belinda made this skirt on her 1st lessons. This dress was Patricia’s first sewing project. Danielle made this fitted dress as a base pattern to make other designs from. Amanda created this pink dress, a skirt and a top, as well as some alteration on an existing skirt in her first six lessons. Avril – “It’s a great way to learn to sew. It’s student directed. Sajeela works from what you want to learn it’s very relaxed and fun.” In the first 6 lessons Beryl made 3 items. Here is a Top and Skirt she created. Congratulations Catriona! Catriona recently won the title of Miss Australia Fashion 2010 with this outfit she created at Sew Yourself Silly. Clodagh made these dresses for her daughter in the beginners sewing class. Gemma makes ALL her own clothes now! Dawn made a heart cushion for her children on her 1st lesson since then she has made a top, a dress, pants and some clothes for her children. Catherine made the pattern for her own design and sewed the hood jacket on her 4th and 5th lesson. Catherine made the pattern for her own design and sewed the hood jacket on her 4th and 5th lesson. Naiya made the pattern and sewed this dress at her 1st and 2nd lessons. Naiya made the pattern for this top and skirt at sewing class and finished sewing the outfit at home. Sarah R. took a course of six lessons during which time she learned to sew and make patterns for a skirt, pants and a top. She came back for more lessons to make her birthday dress pictured. Dog jacket by Sarah D. Tiarna made the pattern and sewed this short jacket on her 6th and 7th lesson. Her comments ” Learning to sew has made me feel more confident. When I wear my clothes out everyone says oh that’s so cute and they are really surprised to find out I made it myself.” – Tiarna “Many thanks for your support and coaching during the last 6 weeks of sewing lessons. I have learnt a lot even though I know how to sew. You have really inspired me to use my machine/overlocker and get sewing again. I really like the way you organise the lessons. You make everyone feel comfortable and are very supportive, even when things go wrong! ” – Sandy Angel made this library bag for her children on her 1st lesson. Her comments: “Good instructions, good company, great learning enviroment, great teacher to student ratio. My sewing esteem has improved dramatically, from not being able to thread my machine to giving things a go. I can recommend it to any one wanting to learn something in the sewing arena.” – Angel
